ABOUT SPECTRUM
Launched in March 2023, UNISO Spectrum is the University of Somalia's biannual Magazine. It is dedicated to publication of opinion articles covering a wide range of topics including education, business and economics, health sciences, humanities, agriculture and technology. The mission of UNISO Spectrum is to increase public awareness of current problems and challenges facing our nation and provide relevant and timely solutions to these problems. We are proud of what we have so far achieved, thanks to our faculty members, graduate students and other scholars. UNISO Spectrum welcomes the voices of everyone and it is guided by a firm principle that remains at the heart of our approach to issues: responsiveness to the needs of Somali people.

Abstracts: In the last decade, Somalia has witnessed unprecedented expansion in the banking sector, leading to the opening of numerous commercial banks. According to the 2021 report of the Central Bank of Somalia, 13 new commercial banks have been licensed, most with close ties to international banks as a gateway into the international financial market.
